UV Light Installation

UV light is a powerful tool in eliminating a wide range of fungi, bacteria, germs, viruses, and other pathogens from your HVAC system. Fungal contamination within HVAC units is a common issue that can have serious health implications. According to the National Center for Biotechnology Information, such contamination can contribute to building-related illnesses, infectious diseases, allergic rhinitis, asthma, and hypersensitivity pneumonitis.

The Power of UV Light

Installing UV lights in your HVAC system can significantly reduce the presence of harmful bacteria and mold. Here are some key benefits of UV light sanitizing:

Eliminates Harmful Pathogens: UV light is effective in killing many types of fungi, bacteria, germs, viruses, and other pathogens that can compromise your indoor air quality.

Prevents Organic Build-Up: By preventing the accumulation of organic materials on the surfaces of your HVAC system’s coils, UV light helps maintain a cleaner system.

Improves Airflow and Energy Efficiency: A cleaner system operates more efficiently, leading to better airflow and energy savings.

Disinfecting and Sterilizing

Typically, UV lights are installed within the air handler, where they operate continuously, 24/7. These lights are particularly effective at controlling mold growth inside the air handler, as all mold within the UV bulb’s line of sight is eliminated, keeping the coil mold-free.

Ultraviolet (UV) lights are especially beneficial for properties in humid areas prone to mold growth or for those with occupants who have severe health concerns. They do an excellent job of disinfecting and sterilizing the cooling coil, ensuring that your HVAC system remains clean and your indoor air stays healthy.

Maintenance and Care

To maintain the effectiveness of your UV light system, bulbs need to be replaced every 6-12 months, or as needed. Regular maintenance ensures that your HVAC system continues to provide the highest level of air purification.
