They are several types of ductwork. Some non-porous ductwork can be cleaned by EnviroAir Systems technicians, then painted with an anti-microbial coating. Anti-microbial coating inhibits the growth of bacteria, mold, mildew and other fungi in some duct systems. Which means it may slow down the re-growth of mold but the protection lasts as long as the coating remains on the surface it was applied to.
The application of an antimicrobial coating is not a substitute for duct cleaning; but since it can slow the growth of mold it can add years to your HVAC duct work.
